Wednesday 27 September to Friday 29 September 2006

University of Melbourne Law School
Pelham St, Carlton, VIC, Australia.

Southern Currents Website Update - 16 October 2006

Southern Currents is over! The culmination of more than two years planning and vision was reflected in a stimulating international program of challenge, opportunity, social awareness and change. The social events complemented this program and were alive with people meeting and renewing acquaintances in many of Melbourne's wonderful landmark buildings.

Southern Currents, the very first joint conference of the Australian and New Zealand law librarians' professional organisations, brought together colleagues and specialists from both of our countries to share their experience and knowledge. This was indeed a landmark event.

The ALLG and the NZLLA thank the organising committees from both associations and in particular the two convenors:

Anne Paton, New Zealand

Amanda Surrey, Australia

You did a fantastic job for your colleagues in bringing together such a memorable programme, surmounting the difficulties of Trans-Tasman organising by two committees by teleconference and email.

Congratulations Amanda & Anne!

We hope that delegates and members will find the conference papers and snapshots available from this site informative and valuable.

And now - where to next?

Susan Woodman, President, Australian Law Librarians' Group

Helga Arlington, President, New Zealand Law Librarians' Association
